The Element Newhaven Owners’ Association
The Element development consists of 278 apartments and is home to a mixture of owners and tenants with a few let on a short-let basis. It is situated in Western Harbour, one of the nicest spots in Edinburgh overlooking the Firth of Forth and the entrance to the Port of Leith.
The Element Newhaven Owners Association consists of all the owners within the Element who have registered to become members. Members have the right to attend the Annual General Meeting and to vote. The life and well-being of the community is facilitated by an elected committee who also liaise with the factors and monitor their work. Western Harbour was created from an expansion of the Port of Leith between 1936 and 1942. The extension formed a breakwater from the fishing village of Newhaven. From then Forth Ports have made huge developements which now include of over 1000 homes, a supermarket, restaurants, gym and local businesses.
